King Cobra is a hip hop artist from Durban who recently released a smash hit titled “Oweyu“. In this interview King Cobra shares his views on being an artist and he tells us about his hit single.
Q: What is the inspiration behind the song “Oweyo”?
A: I am expressing my music journey so on the song I am calling everybody to celebrate the whole experience with me
Q:What do you think of the internet as a tool for promoting yourself and your music?
A: I personally think internet is a great platform to get your music to a number of audience and it makes it easy for people to share and give quick feedback.
Q:”Oweyo” is currently doing great on the airwaves, how have you gotten your songs out to the industry who should hear them?
A: As an artist I can not be hands-on on everything so having a good team and PR makes it easy to get my music out to the industry and to the public.
Q: Do you have any tips to offer hip-hop artists in this regard?
A: Music is full time as an artist you need to fully commit also have a good team around you.
Q: What are your plans and hopes for the future with regards to your music?
A: King Cobra has a lot of good music , the plan is to get that music out
Q: Who are your biggest music influencers?
A: Growing up I use to listen to Micheal Jackson, Mdu Masilela, Akon and Robbie Malinga. Those people really inspired me not only with music but also how they managed to stay relevant in industry.
